John Rice

John Rice is an actor best known for his role in the 1978 horror classic “Dawn of the Dead.” a SWAT team member tasked with escorting survivors to safety in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.

A Pittsburgh native, John is a successful Director, Director of Photography, Editor and Writer who began his 40+ year career working with George on Dawn of the Dead, iconically killing himself in the movie’s SWAT scenes and Knightriders. Since then John has worked on many notable projects, many furthering causes in his hometown of Pittsburgh including ‘No Pets’ and ‘We are Alive’ with previous Weekend of The Dead guest Tony Buba, and the Tim Burton movie ‘Ed Wood’.
